Summer is almost over and that means the Tarlton Construction team only has a few more weeks to complete Phase One renovations at Simon Hall. This is the July sneak peek behind the scenes at the work taking place in the eastern half of Simon on the lower level, Flag Hallway, and the Library. Visitors entering campus from Forest Park Parkway at Throop Drive have a pleasant surprise waiting for them on the south side of the Millbrook Garage, opposite Olin Business School’s Knight Center and Knight Hall.
A beautiful new green space with a rain garden, bench, and bike parking welcomes everyone to the recently expanded business campus at Washington University in St. Louis. The site served as a staging area during construction for the past two years. Prior to construction, the space was occupied by 100 parking spaces. Today, it is transformed into a sustainable green space for the community to enjoy. Watch video to learn more.

Olin is giving thanks to all the construction workers who are building the school’s new Knight and Bauer Halls with a special pre-Thanksgiving lunch on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013.
An early Thanksgiving feast welcomed construction workers to the Knight Center dining room.
Dean Gupta initiated the luncheon last year and extended the invitation again this year. The Aramark staff at the Knight Center was prepared to feed 150 crew members.
Tarlton is managing the 175,000 square foot construction project that is on schedule to be complete in the Spring of 2014. A dedication ceremony will be held May 2 with a special business symposium to inaugurate the new buildings on May 3. Stay tuned for details!

Installation of the Atrium’s glass panels was completed this summer as construction workers finished the exterior of Knight Hall and Bauer Hall. The expansion project is on schedule and expected to be complete next spring.
