Meet Asaf Manela. He joined Olin Business School in 2011 as an assistant professor of finance. Professor Manela conducts theoretical and empirical research in finance. His current work focuses on asset pricing, financial intermediation, and information economics. He also spends a lot of time at the St. Louis Zoo…find out why when you watch the video above.

Manela received his PhD in Finance and MBA from the University of Chicago in June 2011. He holds a BA in Economics and Computer Science from Boston University.


He plays guitar, composes electronic dance music, fences, runs, practices yoga, researches game theory, and he teaches economics! Meet Professor Glenn MacDonald, a renaissance man who takes the dismal out of the dismal science and does his best to make econ class entertaining and enlightening for Olin freshmen and Executive MBA students. MacDonald also teaches a course on the business of the entertainment industry that attracts top students as well as stars from Hollywood, Nashville, New York and L.A. Say hello to Prof. Adina Sterling in our new video series: Meet the Professor. Sterling is an assistant professor of strategy. Her research involves economic sociology, social networks, labor markets, entrepreneurship, and issues of stratification and inequality.
