Remember those undergrads who started a company called Bazaarboy in their dorm room a few years ago? Well, Bazaarboy is still going strong and founders Eric Hamblett and Chris Holt are now playing a major role in the burgeoning St. Louis startup ecosystem.

techlireportEd Domain interviews Eric and Chris on the Domain Tech Report on Techli.com this week about their new experience as founders of a co-working space in the Central West End, called TechArtista.

TechArtista is located at 4818 Washington Blvd. The space is a three-level, 13,500 square-foot space that features private office suites, co-working space, conference rooms and even a row of phone booths outfitted with video conferencing capabilities. There’s also a gym, kitchen, and roof top deck shared by all the entrepreneurs who have set up offices in the space that was a former automobile showroom.

Techli TV’s Ed Domain sits down with Tom Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Nanopore Diagnostics on this week’s Domain Tech Report.  Cohen, a post-doctoral research scholar at Washington University and Benjamin Borgo, PhD, MBA, won the 2014 Olin Cup with their plan for Nanopore Diagnostics.

Nanopore is developing a microbial diagnostic test to fight the spread of antibiotic resistance by taking the guess work out of prescribing antibiotics. The test will determine if a patient has an infection, and then provide comprehensive details on the infection, all in only 20 minutes. This will allow a physician, during the initial examination, to prescribe the ideal antibiotic needed for a particular patient.
