The week after the Super Bowl, Olin Marketing Association hosted a Super Ad Bowl event in conjunction with the Graduate Business Student Association. OMA invited two creative agency experts with experience in making Super Bowl commercials.

IMG_1014Joe Bishop from Cannonball and Tom Townsend from Rogers Townsend spoke about the good, the bad, and the ugly of Super Bowl commercials. They discussed strategy, and what makes Super Bowl commercials successful.

Over conversation and laughs, attendees enjoyed pizza, chicken wings and beverages.  Anheuser-Busch InBev proudly sponsored the event with a beer donation.

Grab a beer with the Olin Marketing Association Thursday, Feb. 11 for the annual Super AD Bowl. Kick off time is 6 p.m. in the Active Learning Lab.

Experts from ad agencies Rogers Townsend and Cannonball will talk about what it’s like to produce a Super Bowl commercial. Discussion will include critiques of this year’s crop of ads that cost a record-breaking $5 million per 30 seconds to air on CBS; production costs are extra.

Perennial advertising favorite and hometown brewer, Anheuser-Busch, has donated the libations for the Super AD Bowl and the OMA is ordering chicken wings from Buffalo Wild Wings for this special THAC.
