Chris Presley, BSBA academic & student services advisor, is on his way to Seoul, South Korea as a participant in the Global Diversity Overseas Seminar Program (GDOS). He is the first participant chosen from Olin to participate in this unique program for staff members.
We caught Chris on the day before his departure and he told us about GDOS and his trip in the video above.
GDOS is a nine-month program designed to introduce Washington University staff members to interculturalism, diversity and social justice work in a global context. It encourages staff members to open their minds and take a few steps outside of their comfort zones.
For 2015, the GDOS Program will focus on diversity and social justice issues in South Korea. South Korea has a robust history, strong religious and cultural traditions, and is a major trading partner in Asia that has invested in manufacturing, technology and design.
During the 10-day tour of South Korea, Chris plans on meeting current students and Wash U. alumni. He will also meet faculty, staff, and students at Seoul National University and Yonsei University, two of our partner institutions in Seoul.
Safe travels, Chris. We look forward to hearing about your trip when you return!
