Mark Brostoff, associate dean and director of the Weston Career Center and director of the Management Communication Center, and a frequent blogger in this space said goodbye to colleagues, students and faculty this week.
After what he said was a very difficult personal and professional decision, Brostoff accepted an offer to serve as the assistant dean and director of MBA Career Services at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business in Los Angeles.
“Mark has been a tremendous asset to Olin,” Dean Gupta said in an email announcing Brostoff’s departure. “He joined Olin in 2008 after eight years at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and 20 years of service in the US Navy Medical Services Corps. Under Mark’s leadership, the Weston Career Center introduced many innovations, which substantially enhanced the delivery of career services for Olin students. In the past five years, Olin students enjoyed some of the highest graduation employment rates in the nation. Finally, he put together an exceptional team that will continue to provide our students, alumni, and business partners with the very best in career services and support.”
Mark Schlafly will serve as interim director of the Weston Career Center and the Management Communication Center; a nationwide search for Brostoff’s replacement is underway. Schlafly currently serves as a career advisor for the WCC. He is a 30-year veteran of the asset management industry where he served in a variety of strategic and senior management roles at A.G. Edwards, LPL Financial, and FSC Securities Corporation.
Fair winds and following seas, Mark!
