St. Louis Public Radio’s Maria Altman turns to Olin prof Cliff Holekamp for his expertise on the JOBS Act – Jumpstart Our Business Startups. A provision of the act is designed to encourage crowdfunding campaigns for startups.

Holekamp is enthusiastic about the JOBS Act, but doesn’t have high expectations for crowdfunding as a viable source of support for entrepreneurs. “I think it will have a modest impact,” Holekamp said. “I think it’s a good thing that will provide additional options for people. It’s not going to completely change the way society works or entrepreneurship runs in this country.”
