Consumers’ demand for your products is declining. Competitors are bigger, and cheaper. It is more and more difficult to maintain employee morale. Your company’s business is collapsing…
This was a scenario faced a few years ago by food company Post Holdings. Post’s Executive Vice President of Marketing, James Holbrook (Olin EMBA’97), came on campus last week to provide valuable insights on doing business in a competitive environment to BSBA students enrolled in the Management 100 course taught by Professor Adina Sterling.
The students heard about the company’s comeback and success as the only cereal company that currently records growth. Key to success? “Shake-it-up and get busy” – says Jim Holbrook. By keeping its employees energized, he said, Post was able to regain confidence and create value.
On the same day, the Management 100 course also hosted:
- SiSi Beltran (Olin BSBA ‘04), Senior Manager – International Bear Marketing at Build-A-Bear Workshop, and
- John Steinhubl (Olin MBA ‘87), Sr. Director, Advertising Production at Anheuser-Busch InBev.
We are thrilled to have these professionals playing such an important role in the Olin experience.
