Hatina awardee named

Brian Harting, is the recipient of this year’s Christine Hatina Award, presented annually for outstanding and exemplary administrative service.  Brian provides administrative support to two full-time faculty, numerous adjunct faculty, and manages the reimbursement process for all Olin faculty members.

As you can imagine he’s always quite busy, but continues to offer great customer service with a big smile.  This may be why Brian has been nominated for the award by more than one faculty member every year since its inception.  I am also pleased to note that there were numerous nominations this year, representing every staff department.

Named for a former staff member and funded by the Olin faculty, this award is presented to the Olin non-management administrative staff member who exemplifies the attributes displayed by Christine Hatina in providing outstanding administrative service to the Olin Business School faculty.  Chris Hatina was a member of our Dean’s Office staff for many years.  Tragically, she passed away in 2012 at the age of 47.   Each year, faculty members nominate outstanding candidates and the winner is determined by committee.

Brian receives a plaque and a monetary award.  There will also be a reception held in his honor on Wednesday, April 27, 2015 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm in the Bauer Hall Faculty Seminar Room, BH 550.  All faculty and staff are invited to attend.  Snacks, cake, and soft drinks/coffee will be served.

Please join me in congratulating Brian on a job well-done!

I am Christine Hatina’s mother. I have wanted to follow up on this scholarship after I was told at her funeral it would be established. Chris’ dear friend, Angela Peacock, a student at Wash U, found this for me. Thanks Angela. Thanks to Anderson School and many congratulations the recipients. Good luck in your scholastic endeavors and future careers.
I am honored this was set up in Chris’ name, and I am sure she is watching over all in the office and the recipients with joy and honor in her heart.
