Jim Bullard speaks at Olin’s Corporate Finance Conference

On November 8th, Jim Bullard, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, presented at Olin’s Corporate Finance Conference, sponsored by our Wells Fargo Advisors Center for Finance and Accounting Research.

Proposing exciting new areas of research for the academics and graduate students in attendance, Bullard discussed “Shadow Interest Rates and the Stance of U.S. Monetary Policy.”

Because the recommended interest rate has hovered near zero for a historically long time, the Federal Reserve has discovered that a short term “shadow” interest rate has emerged.  Many questions remain unanswered regarding the optimum monetary policies during this unconventional time.

For more information, please see the press release on Mr. Bullard’s talk from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
