If you’re headed to a luxury ocean-front hotel or resort for spring break, be sure to ask the poolside staff if they’re wearing uniforms designed by Lori Coulter. Olin alum (MBA’99) and innovative swimwear designer, Coulter launched one of the first made-to-measure retail apparel concepts to successfully integrate 3D body scanning, mass customization, and computer aided design to create a fully digital and automated supply chain.Coulter’s uniform designs, including swimwear, activewear and dresses, are now featured at many of the most exclusive resorts and retailers in the world including Wynn Resorts, The Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino, MGM Resorts, The Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos, among others.
Coulter’s company has expanded from its founding in 2005 as a custom-swimwear maker to her 2012 launch of exclusive ready-to-wear collections with brands like Soft Surroundings, Cintas and Bra Smyth.
Coulter’s company is based in St. Louis and she is an adjunct faculty member in fashion design at the Sam Fox School of Art at WashU.
