Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit will discuss the open internet, entrepreneurship, and his new book titled, “Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century will be Made, Not Managed.” at Wash U Monday, Oct. 28.
Ohanian graduated in 2005 from the University of Virginia, where he and his co-founder Steve Huffman created reddit.com. In 2006 they were acquired by Conde Nast Publications, owner of Wired Magazine and The New Yorker.
In 2010, Alexis co-founded Hipmunk.com, a successful travel search website and now serves as an advisor. Shortly after, he joined in the fight against SOPA and PIPA, becoming one of the public faces of the movement. He continues to fight for internet freedom by traveling the country campaigning for the open internet.
